Hi, I'm Marcel van Werkhoven
Editor | Cinematographer
I'm Marcel van Werkhoven, an editor and cinematographer based in Los Angeles, California.
I'm an organized, detail-oriented and creative video editor and videographer with 4+ years of experience in production and post production for marketing, documentary, narrative, and social media.
In my free time I enjoy honing my film photography skills in nature and while scuba diving, designing and building muppet-style puppets, and woodworking.

My passion for filmmaking started in my childhood with stop-motion Playmobil animations and a deep love of the work of Jim Henson. My fascination led me to puppeteering, and in 2018 I was invited to attend the Sesame Street Puppeteer’s Workshop, which solidified my interest in the film industry as I began college.
My professional work spans branded content and nonprofit storytelling. I believe great stories start with a strong hook and are built on clarity. This vision guides every project I edit. In my current position as an Editor at The Salvation Army, I craft short documentaries and testimonials highlighting the organization's impact on the West Coast and across the world. Prior to that, I spent three years at Biola University’s Marketing department as a video producer, shooting and editing facility tours, program videos and ad campaigns.
